Preparation Method :

  • Peel skin and chop potatoes into medium square pieces.
  • Heat oil, and allow mustard seeds to splutter; add potatoes, curry leaves and stir. Close lid and keep in sim.
  • Stir every 2 minutes; when it becomes very soft, add asafoetida, sambhar powder and salt.
  • Remove and garnish with coriander leaves.
  • Serve hot.


  • 1 kg Potatoes
  • 1 teaspoon Sambhar powder
  • 1 teaspoon Asafoetida
  • 1 teaspoon Mustard seeds
  • Curry leaves a few
  • Coriander leaves for garnishing
  • 5 tablespoons IDHAYAM sesame oil
  • Salt to taste
