Preparation Method :

  • Heat the oil in a deep pan; add the garlic and the boiled spinach. Mix well. Fry the spinach until the colour changes and all the water has evaporated.
  • Add in the remaining ingredients except cardamom powder and cook until the water is reduced to half its original quantity. Adjust seasoning with salt.
  • Add in the drained, fried cottage cheese. Cook till all the water has been absorbed. Add in the green cardamom powder and mix well.


  • 1 kg Spinach, leaves only, washed, boiled, drained and coarsely chopped
  • 550 grams Cottage cheese, cut into cubes, fried until light brown, drained and immersed in water
  • 150 ml Cooking oil
  • 1 tablespoon Garlic paste
  • 1.5 litre Water
  • 7-9 Green cardamom
  • 5-6 Black cardamom  
  • 1 teaspoon Turmeric powder
  • 2" Cinnamon sticks
  • 1 teaspoon Dried ginger powder  
  • ½ teaspoon Black pepper powder
  • ½ teaspoon Black cumin seeds  
  • Red chilli paste and salt, to taste
  • ¼ teaspoon Green cardamom seeds, powdered
