SPAGHETTI WITH HAM SAUCE

Serves :

Preparation Time :
20 minutes

Cooking Time :
45 minutes

Preparation Method :

  • Heat the oil and butter in a large frying-pan. Add the bacon and fry for 2-3 minutes.
  • Add the onion and garlic and fry for a further 2 minutes until soft.
  • Stir in the tomatoes, tomato puree, herb seasoning and pepper.
  • Bring to the boil, then lower the heat, cover the pan and simmer for atleast 25 minutes.
  • Meanwhile, cook the spaghetti for about 10 minutes.
  • Season the sauce to taste with salt and serve with the spaghetti.

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 tablespoon Cooking oil
  • 20 grams butter
  • 100 grams pancetta or unsmoked streaky bacon, finely diced
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 1 clove garlic, thinly sliced
  • 500 grams canned tomatoes, drained
  • 1 tablespoon tomato puree
  • 1teaspoon dried mixed herbs
  • ½ teaspoons freshly ground black pepper
  • 500 grams spaghetti
  • Salt (to taste)
