Preparation Method :

  • Put the stock in a saucepan. Place a sieve over the pan. Put the miso into the sieve, and rub it through, moistening it with the stock as and when necessary.
  • Bring the soup to simmering point over medium heat.
  • Take the pan from the heat.
  • Pour the soup into bowls. Stir each one, and garnish.
  • Garnishes for Miso Soup spring onions (scallions). 


  • 850 ml kombu stock
  • 85 grams miso (soybean paste)
  • Finely Chopped Spring onions
