DHALL EGG CURRY

Preparation Method :

  • Soak the lentils in cold water for 8 hours or overnight. Drain.
  • Peel and halve the eggs.
  • Heat the ghee or butter in a saucepan over low heat. Put in the onions, and cook, stirring frequently, until brown.
  • Add the lentils and curry powder. Cook 5 minutes, stirring.
  • Pour in ½ pint (245 ml or 1 ⅓ cups) hot water. Simmer, covered, about 20 minutes, or until the lentils are tender and all the liquid has been absorbed.
  • Put in the egg halves, and cook 2 minutes more.

INGREDIENTS

  • 250 grams split, red lentils
  • 4 eggs, hard boiled
  • 50 grams ghee or butter
  • 2 medium onions, finely chopped
  • 1 ½ tablespoons curry powder
