Preparation Method :

  • Pre heat the oven temperature to 180°C / 350°F.
  • Dough: Place the flour, butter and salt in a food processor and process until mixture resembles fine breadcrumbs.
  • Add enough cold water with machine running, to form a soft dough. Knead at least for 10 - 12 minutes. Allow to stand for about 15 minutes.
  • Filling: Place pumpkin in a baking dish, then scatter with sugar, dot with butter and drizzle with water. Cover and bake for about 30 minutes or until pumpkin is soft and turns golden.
  • Divide the dough into equal pieces. Roll out each piece to form a thick round.
  • Place 1 tablespoons of filling in the centre of the dough rounds. Top with remaining rounds and press edges to seal.
  • Place it on greased baking trays and bake for about 20 - 30 minutes or until golden. Serve warm.

  • 220 grams butter, chopped
  • 750 grams flour  
  • Pinch of Salt
  • Cold water

Sweet Pumpkin Filling

  • 75 grams brown sugar
  • 50 grams butter, diced
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 750 grams butternut pumpkin (squash), peeled and chopped
