Preparation Method :

  • Heat the oil in a saucepan. Deep - fry tortillas, one at a time for a minute or until crisp and golden. Drain on absorbent kitchen paper.
  • Filling: Mix the chilli powder, cumin and lime juice in a glass dish. Add steak, turn to coat and marinate for 5 minutes.
  • Drain steak and cook under a grill for about 3 minutes on each side or until cooked. Allow to stand for 2 minutes, then cut into strips and place in a bowl.
  • Add onions and coriander leaves and toss to combine.
  • Divide filling between tostada cups and serve.


Beef Filling

  • 500 grams rump steak, trimmed of visible fat
  • 2 teaspoons mild chilli powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 50 ml lime juice
  • 2 red onions, sliced
  • ½ bunch coriander
  • Salt and Pepper to taste
