Preparation Method :

  • Heat the butter in a chafing dish or a heavy-based frying pan (skillet) over medium heat. Sauté the pepper, celery, onion and garlic for about 3 minutes until soft but not brown.
  • Stir in the tomatoes with their juice and heat to boiling point. Add the oregano, salt and pepper to taste, ham and prawns (shrimp).
  • Add the rice and heat through, stirring gently, so the rice does not stick to the bottom.
  • Serve in deep bowls sprinkled with parsley. 

INGREDIENTS

  • 80 grams butter
  • 1 green pepper, cored, seeded and diced
  • 2 stick celery, finely chopped 
  • 2 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 clove garlic, crushed
  • 500 grams tomatoes 
  • 1 teaspoons dried oregano 
  • Salt and freshly ground pepper 
  • 200 grams cooked ham, diced 
  • 200 grams peeled prawns 
  • 400 grams long-grain rice, cooked 
  • Chopped parsley, to garnish
