BAKED POTATO AND ONION LAYER

For those who are fond of eating potato dishes, the Baked Potato and Onion Layer is the best option. This is perfect to prepare in any type of occasion and can be given as a gift to your friends. Why don’t you prepare this dish now?

Preparation Method :

  • Arrange the potato and onion slices in alternate layers in a shallow ovenproof dish, sprinkling salt, pepper, garlic and sage between each layer.
  • Pour over the skimmed milk - it should come about two-thirds of the way up the sides.
  • Cover and bake in a preheated moderately hot oven for about 50 minutes or until the potatoes are cooked.
  • Uncover to allow the top to brown, then cook for a further 10 minutes.
  • If the dish becomes too dry during cooking add a little more milk, but the finished dish should have absorbed all the milk.
  • Serve hot.

  • 8 medium potatoes, peeled and finely sliced
  • 8 medium onions, peeled and finely sliced
  • Salt
  • Freshly ground black pepper
  • 2 clove garlic, peeled and crushed
  • 4 teaspoons chopped fresh sage
  • 250 ml skimmed milk
