Preparation Method :

  • Sift flour into large bowl, stir in oats and sugar; rub in butter. Combine golden syrup and milk in small pan, stir over heat until warm.
  • Stir warm milk mixture into oat mixture, mix to a soft dough; knead gently on lightly floured surface until smooth.
  • Roll dough between sheets of baking paper until 3 - 5 mm thick; cut into small rounds, place on greased oven trays; prick lightly with fork.
  • Bake in moderate oven about 10 - 12 minutes or until lightly browned; cool on trays.


  • 75 grams firmly packed brown sugar
  • 50 grams butter, chopped
  • 50 ml golden syrup
  • 250 grams rolled oats, finely ground.
  • 150 grams wholemeal plain flour
  • 75 ml milk
