Preparation Method :

  • Sift flours into medium bowl, rub in butter; stir in egg. Press mixture over base of greased rectangular slice pan.
  • Bake in moderate oven 15 minutes, sprinkle evenly with nuts, pour over topping. Bake in moderate oven further 15 minutes or until topping is just set. Cool in pan.
  • Topping: Combine all ingredients in small bowl; mix well.


  • 100 grams plain flour
  • 25 grams self-raising flour
  • 100 grams butter, chopped
  • 1 egg, lightly beaten
  • 250 grams pecans


  • 50 grams butter, melted
  • 75 ml golden syrup
  • 50 grams brown sugar
  • 1 egg, lightly beaten
  • 2 tablespoons self-raising flour
