Preparation Method :

  • Beat cooled butter, essence, sugars and cornflour in small bowl with electric mixer until thick. Stir in sifted flour.
  • Press mixture over base of greased rectangular slice pan, smooth and mark into squares or rectangles, prick lightly with fork.
  • Bake in moderate oven about 20 - 25 minutes or until firm. Cut shortbread where marked; cool in pan.


  • 350 grams plain flour
  • 250 grams butter, melted
  • 50 grams castor sugar
  • 50 grams icing sugar mixture
  • 50 grams corn flour
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla essence
