Preparation Method :

  • Melt the butter in a pan. Add flour and stir for a minute.
  • Gradually add in the milk, stirring and bring to a boil. Add cheese with salt, pepper and mustard, stir till cheese has melted. Remove from fire.
  • Place the tomato slices on the buttered toast.
  • Place a slice of boiled egg on the tomatoes. Put under a moderate grill to heat. Pour the hot cheese sauce and serve at once.


  • 4 slices of buttered toast
  • 150 grams tomatoes - sliced
  • 1 hard boiled egg - cut into slices

Cheese Sauce

  • 25 grams cheese - grated
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 200 ml milk
  • 1 tablespoon flour
  • ½ teaspoon each of salt, pepper and mustard powder
