Preparation Method :

  • Put the soya mince into a large bowl. Pour over the vegetable stock and leave to soak for about 15 minutes until it has been absorbed.
  • Add the onion, flour, beaten egg and chopped herbs. Season with the mushroom ketchup or soy sauce and a little salt and pepper.
  • Form the mixture into 8 burgers. Cover and chill until ready to cook.
  • Brush the burgers with vegetable oil and barbecue them over hot coals, turning once. Allow about 5 minutes on each side.
  • Split the buns and top with a burger. Lay a cheese slice on top and garnish with barbecue sauce, dill pickle and tomato slices.
  • Serve with a green salad made with lettuce, spring onion (scallion) and cucumber.


  • 150 gram dehydrated soya mince 
  • 300 ml vegetable stock 
  • 1 small onion, chopped finely
  • 125 gram plain (all-purpose) flour 
  • 1 egg beaten
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh herbs
  • 1 tablespoon mushroom ketchup or soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoon Sesame oil 
  • 4 burger buns
  • 4 cheese slices 
  • Salt and pepper

To garnish

  • Tasty Barbecue Sauce 
  • Dill pickle 
  • Tomato slices

To serve

  • Lettuce, cucumber & spring onion (scallion) salad
