Preparation Method :

  • Mix the freshly grated ginger, rice wine or sherry with soy sauce, sesame oil and ground coriander.
  • Soak the lamb cubes in the marinade for about an hour.
  • Take the lamb cubes out of the marinade, put a strip of bacon on each one and then thread the strips onto wooden skewers.
  • Cook on the grill for about 5-7 minutes on each side.
  • The Peanut Sauce: Sauté the shallot cubes with the chillies in heated oil.
  • Add the ginger powder, fry for a minute and then thin with the peanut butter, milk and half a cup of water. Allow it boil, spice with soy sauce and keep warm.
  • Serve the lamb sate with the peanut sauce.


  • 750 grams lamb, cut into small cubes and soaked in the marinade
  • 150 grams streaky bacon, cut into long thin strips
  • 2 tablespoon mixed herbs
  • 50 ml rice wine or sherry
  • 50 ml soy sauce
  • 145 grams peanut butter
  •  2 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 50 ml sesame oil
  • 2 teaspoon ground coriander seeds
  • 2-3 shallots, peeled and diced
  • 2 red or green chillies, washed and diced
  • 1 tablespoon freshly grated ginger
  • 2 tablespoon milk
