Preparation Method :

  • Beat eggs and sugar with an egg beater or hand mixer until white and frothy and till the volume increases.
  • Sift maida, cocoa, baking powder and soda. Keep aside.
  • Add oil and vanilla essence gradually. Mix well. Fold in the maida, using a wooden spoon mix gently.
  • Grease and dust an 8" cake tin. Transfer the prepared mixture to the greased tin.
  • Heat oven to 200°C. Bake the cake till the cake is baked.
  • Remove from oven. Unmould and cool on a cake rack for frosting.
  • For the frosting: Place the sauce pan with oil over the boiling water until chocolate melts.
  • Stir in the icing sugar, milk or cream. Remove from heat, beat till smooth.
  • Cut the cake into half and spread some of the frosting over the lower half of the cake base, place the top half back on the frosting. Press gently.
  • Spread the remaining over the top and sides of the cake. Coat well. Decorate the cake with chocolate curls and fresh mint sprigs.

  • 200 ml IDHAYAM Mantra Peanut oil 
  • 3 grams vanilla essence
  • 150 grams dark Cooking chocolate, Break into pieces.
  • 50 grams icing sugar
  • 50 ml milk or thin cream
