PARMESAN AND HERB ROLLS

Preparation Method :

  • Preheat the oven to 190°C/375°F/ Gas Mark 5.
  • In a large bowl, mix together the flour, salt and yeast.
  • Rub in the margarine and add the parmesan, parsley and spring onions and stir it well.
  • Pour over hand-hot water and mix to form soft dough.
  • Tip the dough onto a lightly floured surface and knead until smooth and elastic.
  • Place in a lightly-oiled clean bowl, cover with a damp cloth and allow to rest in a warm place until it double in size.
  • Knead the dough again for 5 more minutes. Divide the dough into 8 pieces and roll.
  • Place the rolls on a baking sheet and then cover and allow rest for about 15-20 minutes.
  • Brush with a little milk and then bake for about 15-20 minutes or until the rolls are golden.

INGREDIENTS

  • 500 grams strong wholemeal flour 
  • 50 grams grated parmesan 
  • 50 grams chopped fresh parsley 
  • 1 sachet of easy-blend dried yeast
  • 3 tablespoon margarine 
  • 3 spring onions, sliced 
  • Salt, to taste 
  • Little milk, for brushing
