Preparation Method :

  • Heat half of the mustard oil in a pan; add in the mustard, onion and fennel seeds. When the seeds begin to splutter, add the dried red chillies and stir-fry until the chillies change colour.
  • Add the cottage cheese and dried mango powder; stir-fry until the moisture evaporates. Remove from heat, stir-in the yogurt mixture.
  • Pour the remaining mustard oil on top, garnish with green chillies and serve.


  • 500 grams paneer, cut into medium chunks
  • 50 ml Mustard oil
  • ½ teaspoon Mustard seeds 
  • ½ teaspoon Onion seeds 
  • 1 teaspoon Fennel seeds
  • 2 Dried red chillies, cleaned with moist cloth and wiped dry
  • ½ teaspoon Dried mango powder 
  • 3-4 Green chillies, deseeded, slit

Yogurt Mixture

  • 500 grams Yogurt, whisked
  • 1 teaspoon Coriander powder
  • A pinch Turmeric powder
  • Red chilli powder and Salt to taste
