Preparation Method :

  • Heat the oil in a non-stick pan. Add the onion and sauté for about 2-3 minutes. Add the spices and stir for about half a minute.
  • Add the tomatoes and reduce for 3-5 minutes. Add half a cup of the water and reduce again over a moderate heat.
  • Add the garlic, chillies, salt and tomato puree, cook, stirring, for a minute.
  • Add the remaining water, bring to the boil and then simmer for about 5-7 minutes.
  • Reduce all the excess liquid in the pan. Add the milk and cook for another 3-5 minutes, stirring often.
  • Add the paneer and stir to coat in the sauce. Simmer for about 2 minutes.
  • Garnish with fresh coriander and serve hot.


  • 350 grams low-fat paneer, cut into small cubes
  • 150 ml semi-skimmed milk
  • 1¼ cups hot water    
  • 2-3 garlic cloves, grated
  • 2 tablespoon IDHAYAM sesame oil
  • 1 onion, thinly sliced
  • ½ teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon coriander powder
  • 1 tablespoon tomato puree
  • ½ teaspoon garam masala
  • 2 tomatoes
  • 2-3 green chillies, whole
  • Red chilli powder and salt, to taste
  • Fresh coriander, chopped, to garnish
