Deliciously bite sized chicken steamed over high heat for fifteen minutes ensures a well cooked and tender steamed chicken recipe. You can add some chopped vegetables with the chicken before steaming. Serving it with steamed rice makes it a great combination to enjoy a hearty meal.

Preparation Method :

  • Using a sharp, heavy cleaver, chop the chicken pieces straight through the bones into bite - sized pieces.
  • Combine all the remaining ingredients and mix with chicken pieces.
  • Place on a heatproof dish and put the dish in a steamer over a pan of boiling water.
  • Cover with the lid and steam over a high heat for 15 minutes.
  • Place some chopped vegetables around the chicken before steaming, if preferred. Serve with steamed rice.


  • 1 kilogram chicken pieces (thigh cutlets, drumsticks, wings)
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon dry sherry
  • 2 teaspoons corn flour
  • 2 teaspoons finely grated fresh ginger
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
