What’s enthralling to someone’s eye may be true to his stomach! This is really true with this special dish-Chinese Chicken Livers with Prawns (Shrimp) and Broccoli. With the name of the dish itself, you can tell of even its basic ingredients!
Serves :

Preparation Time :

10 minutes

Preparation Method :

  • Parboil the broccoli for 2 minutes, then drain. Sprinkle the prawns (shrimp) with the salt and 1 tablespoon of the oil. Cut each liver into four pieces.
  • Sprinkle with half the soy sauce and another 1 tablespoon of the oil.
  • Heat the-remaining oil in a pan or wok over high heat. Add the ginger and stir-fry for 20 seconds. Add the prawns (shrimp) and chicken livers and stir-fry for 1½ minutes.
  • Add the broccoli, sugar and sherry and bring to the boil. Sprinkle with remaining soy sauce. Stir-fry for 2 minutes.
  • Serve hot with plain boiled rice. 


  • 700 grams broccoli cut into small florets
  • 500 grams peeled prawns
  • 2 teaspoon salt
  • 8 tablespoons oil
  • 200 grams chicken livers 
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 4 slices root ginger, shredded
  • 2 teaspoon sugar
  • 4 tablespoons dry sherry
