CANTERBURY APPLES

Preparation Time :

Preparation Method :

  • Remove the cores from the apples and make a cut around the middle of each apple. Place in a shallow ovenproof dish greased with half the butter.
  • Blend together the curd cheese, sultanas (raisins), half the sugar and the cinnamon.
  • Fill the centers of the apples with the cheese mixture. Press the rest on top and sprinkle with the remaining sugar.
  • Cook the apples in a preheated moderate oven (180°C / 350°F, Gas Mark 4) for 1 hour.
  • Serve warm with pouring cream or ice cream.

INGREDIENTS

  • 4 Granny Smith apples
  • 100 gram butter
  • 100 gram curd cheese
  • 50 gram sultanas
  • 50 gram brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
