Spiced cranberry and apple pie – a perfect and healthy dish for your family! This recipe is extremely best for all because of its appetizing and nutritious ingredients. If you desire to prepare this mouth-watering dish, simply understand its cooking procedures and tips.

Preparation Method :

  • To make the pastry dough, put the flour, sugar and spice into a bowl and mix well.
  • Add the margarine in pieces and rub into the flour until the mixture resembles breadcrumbs.
  • Stir in the nuts, then 2 tablespoons of beaten egg and mix to a firm dough.
  • Turn out on to a lightly floured surface and knead lightly, then cover and chill until required.
  • To make the filling, put all the ingredients in a bowl and mix well. Spoon into a pie dish.
  • Roll out the dough on the lightly floured surface to a shape 2.5 cm / 1 inch larger than the circumference of the pie dish.
  • Cut a 1 inch strip of dough from around the edge and press it on to the moistened rim of the pie dish.
  • Moisten the strip, and then place the large piece of dough on top. Press firmly to seal, then trim and flute the edge.
  • Decorate the top of the pie with the trimmings and make a slit in the centre. Brush with the remaining beaten egg.
  • Bake in a preheated moderately hot oven for 30 to 40 minutes until the pastry is crisp and brown.



  • 250 grams plain whole meal flour
  • 100 grams light soft brown sugar 
  • 2 tablespoon ground mixed spice 
  • 200 grams margarine 
  • 100 grams chopped nuts
  • 2 eggs, beaten 


  • 750 grams cooking apples, peeled, cored and sliced
  • Finely grated rind and juice of 2 orange
  • 500 grams cranberries
  • 100 grams fructose
