HUMMUS DIPS

Preparing the Hummus recipe every day a good way in order to maintain your healthy diet and improve your appetite. This recipe is purely contained of vegetables and other ingredients that provide perfect blend to each other. So, enjoy preparing this recipe now!

Preparation Time :

Preparation Method :

  • Put the chick peas into a pan and cover with fresh water.
  • Add the onion and bay leaves, and then bring to the boil.
  • Lower the heat, cover and cook for 2 hours, or until the chick peas are tender.
  • Drain thoroughly, and then remove the bay leaves.
  • Puree the peas and onion and mix in the lemon juice, garlic, oil, yogurt and cumin to make a fairly soft consistency. Season with salt.
  • Chill the hummus thoroughly, then garnish with parsley and black olives and serve with warm whole meal pitta bread.

INGREDIENTS

  • 500 grams chick peas, soaked in cold water overnight and drained
  • 2 onion, peeled and roughly chopped
  • 2 bay leaves
  • Juice of 2 lemons
  • 4 cloves garlic, peeled and crushed
  • 4 tablespoons cooking oil
  • 500 ml plain low fat yogurt
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin seed
  • Salt

Garnish

  • Chopped parsley
  • Black olives
