Preparation Method :

  • Crush the garlic and salt together. Mix it with little lemon juice and blend with the tahini.
  • Add the cumin and remaining lemon juice to form a smooth paste (like peanut butter).
  • Use more garlic if you want the tahini to taste stronger. If it is too thick, reduce it with water.
  • As with hummus, a blender is ideal for making tahini it will be smoother and creamier than if made by hand.
  • Serve it in a bowl and garnish with the parsley.


  • 2 cloves garlic
  • Salt, to taste
  • Juice of 2 large lemons
  • 6 tablespoons sesame seed paste (tahini)
  • Pinch of ground cumin
  • 1 tablespoon finely chopped parsley
