Preparation Method :

  • Add the oil, soy sauce, ginger, garlic, lemon rind with juice, cinnamon, turmeric and honey into a food processor and process to a smooth puree.
  • Adjust seasoning to taste with salt and pepper.
  • Place the chicken wings in a large, shallow dish. Spoon the honey mixture over the chicken wings and turn until thoroughly coated.
  • Cover with plastic wrap and marinate in the refrigerator up to 3 - 5 hours. Preheat the barbecue.
  • The Sauce: Brush the bell peppers with the oil and cook over hot coals, turning frequently, for about 8 - 10 minutes or until the skin is blackened and charred.
  • Remove from the barbecue and let cool slightly, remove the skins and discard the stem with the seeds.
  • Put the flesh into a food processor with the yogurt and process to a smooth puree.
  • Transfer to a bowl and stir in the soy sauce and chopped cilantro. Drain the chicken wings, reserving the marinade.
  • Cook over medium-hot coals, turn and brush frequently with the reserved marinade until thoroughly cooked. Serve immediately with the sauce.


  • 75 ml IDHAYAM Sesame oil
  • 3 tablespoon light soy sauce
  • 2-inch piece of fresh ginger, coarsely chopped
  • 2 teaspoon ground turmeric
  • 3 tablespoon honey
  • 16 chicken wings
  • 2 garlic cloves, coarsely chopped
  • Grated rind and juice of 1 Lemon
  • 2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

The Sauce

  • 100 grams plain yogurt
  • 2 tablespoon dark soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoon chopped fresh cilantro
  • 2 orange bell peppers
  • 2 yellow bell peppers
  • Corn oil, for brushing
