Preparation Method :

  • Peel and chop all the vegetables into medium pieces.
  • Make a smooth paste from the mustard seeds and poppy seeds together and keep aside.
  • Heat Oil and then fry the Boris in it and keep aside. Also fry the bitter gourd in it and keep aside
  • In the same oil, add bay leaves and panch phoron. Once the flavor comes, add vegetables, turmeric powder, and salt in the same oil and mix well. Cook for 5 minutes.
  • Now add ginger paste and all the Spices to it and mix well. Add Water and simmer the flame and get cooked.
  • Add the Fried Boris and bitter gourds, the paste of mustard and poppy seeds to it when the vegetables are half cooked. Mix well and cover again.
  • Take it off the flame when the vegetables are well cooked. Add ghee and roasted panch phoran & black pepper and cover it for 10 minutes.
  • Serve hot with rice.


  • 3 Medium sized Parwals (Patol) 
  • 3 Medium sized Bitter gourd (Karela) 
  • 1 Medium sized Green bananas 
  • 3 Medium sized Drumstick veggies
  • 2 Medium sized Potato
  • 2 Medium sized Egg Plant
  • 50 ml Mustard oil
  • 5 piece Medium Size Bari/Bori (Sun Dried Small Pulse Cakes) 
  • 1 teaspoon Ginger Paste 
  • 1 teaspoon Red Chili Powder (if you want) 
  • ½ teaspoon Turmeric Powder
  • 3 teaspoon Mustard Seeds
  • 4 teaspoon Poppy Seeds
  • ½ teaspoon Panch Phoran 
  • 2 Bay leaves 
  • 2 teaspoon Panch Phoran and black pepper (roasted and grinded) 
  • 2 teaspoon Ghee
  • 2 teaspoon Sugar
  • Salt to taste
