BEEF & CABBAGE STUFFED LATKES

Sometimes Beef and Cabbage appearance can’t arouse the appetite of the customer because of the toppings or the look of it but if you eat it you will never regret that you try this food. Aside from delicious, this recipe also provides vitamins and minerals for our daily activities.

Preparation Method :

  • Simmer the potatoes in boiling salted water until tender, drain and dry them campletely.
  • Mash the potatoes with the eggs, season the mixture well.
  • Heat the oil in a frying pan
  • Cook the onion, herbs and garlic until soft but without colour.
  • Add the cabbage and season it to taste.
  • Combine this mixture with the minced beef and gravy.
  • Divide the potato into 8 even portions.
  • Place each portion in the palm of your hand, spreading the potato out to form a Hat circle.
  • Place 2 tablespoons of the beef mixture in the centre and completely enclose with the potato.
  • Push the ball shape down to form a patty or hamburger shape.
  • Dust each one with flour, heat the butter in a pan, and fry the latkes until they are golden on each side.

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 kg floury potatoes, peeled 
  • 4 eggs, beaten
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper (to taste) 
  • 3 tablespoons Cooking oil
  • 1 onion, peeled and finely chopped 
  • ½ teaspoon fresh, soft thyme leaves
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley 
  • 1 tablespoon snipped fresh chives 
  • 1 clove garlic, peeled and finely chopped
  • 250 grams cooked cabbage, chopped 
  • 350 grams left-over boiled beef or roast beef, minced 1 tablespoon Basic Gravy or Beef Consomme 
  • Flour
  • 50 grams-100 grams of butter
