GRATIN OF BEEF

Have you eaten a recipe that gives a crispy and delicious taste? This recipe is right for you. It is very affordable and won’t take much of your time. It gives the right crisp on your beef. For best result try the GRATIN OF BEEF.

45 minutes

Cooking Time :
15 minutes

Preparation Method :

  • Melt half the butter in a heavy-based pan. Add the onions and fry gently until tender and lightly colored.
  • Sprinkle in the flour and cook for 1 minute, then gradually stir in the vinegar and stock.
  • Add the tomato sauce or chopped tomato and salt and pepper to taste. Cook, simmering, for 10 minutes, then add the beef and cook for 10 minutes, turning once.
  • Turn mixture into flameproof serving dish. Melt the remaining butter, mix with the breadcrumbs, and then pour over the beef.
  • Cook under a preheated hot grill (broiler) for a few minutes until crisp and brown.
  • Serve immediately.

INGREDIENTS

  • 150 grams butter 
  • 700 grams onions, finely chopped
  • 3 tablespoons plain flour
  • 4 tablespoons wine vinegar
  • 500 ml beef stock 
  • 4 tablespoons Fresh Tomato Sauce or 2 large ripe tomato, skinned and chopped 
  • Salt and freshly ground pepper
  • 700 grams cooked beef, cut in thin slices
  • 4 tablespoons dried breadcrumbs
