MEXICAN HAMBURGERS

Preparation Method :

  • Mix the beef with the onion, if used, egg, salt and pepper to taste and the shire sauce.
  • Divide into 4 equal pieces into hamburgers about 1 inch thick.
  • To make the sauce, heat the oil in a frying pan. Add the onions and garlic and fry until they are golden.
  • Add the pepper rings and continue for 15 minutes. Stir in the mushrooms, tomatoes with their can juice and the oregano.
  • Season to taste with the chili sauce, salt and pepper.
  • Cover and cook for a further 10 minutes. Meanwhile place the hamburgers on the rack of a grill pan.
  • Cook under a preheated hot grill until rare or medium, to your taste.
  • Arrange the hamburgers on a hot serving dish and pour over them.
  • Serve with a crisp green salad.

INGREDIENTS

  • 750 grams lean minced beef
  • 2 onion, peeled and finely grated
  • 2 eggs, lightly beaten
  • Salt
  • Freshly ground black pepper
  • 4 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce

Sauce

  • 4 teaspoons Cooking oil
  • 4 medium onions, peeled and minced
  • 4 garlic cloves, peeled and minced
  • 4 small green peppers, cored, deseeded and sliced in rings
  • 100 grams mushrooms, chopped
  • 1 kg tomatoes
  • 4 teaspoons dried marjoram
  • Dash of hot chili sauce
