Preparation Method :

  • Heat the oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Add the grated onion, garlic, and chillis and sauté until softened, 5 minutes.
  • Stir in the paprika, cumin, turmeric, salt, and pepper. Set aside to cool. Blend the beef, bread crumbs, parsley, egg, and onion mixture in a food processor. Shape into four burgers.
  • Preheat a frying pan over high heat. Drizzle with the remaining the oil and cook the burgers until browned, 5 minutes each side. Put a slice of cheese on each burger and let melt slightly.
  • Cover the bases of the buns with lettuce, tomato, and sliced onion. Put the burgers on top, spread with barbecue sauce, and cover with the lids. Serve hot.


  • 100 ml sesame oil
  • 4 small red onions
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 4 small red chillis, seeded and finely chopped
  • 2 tablespoon hot paprika
  • 4 teaspoons ground cumin
  • 2 teaspoon ground turmeric
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper
  • 750 grams ground (minced) beef
  • 100 grams fine dry bread crumbs
  • 5 tablespoons finely chopped fresh parsley
  • 2 large egg, lightly beaten
  • 6 slices Cheddar cheese
  • 6 burger buns, halved and toasted
  • Lettuce, shredded
  • 4 tomatoes, sliced
  • Barbecue sauce
