BEEF AND PRUNE CASSEROLE

This recipe is a kind of recipe that you just can’t get enough of. You all know that you all love prunes right? So why don’t you give it a try? It is easy to prepare and to cook.

Preparation Time :
30 minutes

Cooking Time :
1 hour 40 minutes

Preparation Method :

  • Heat the oil in a saucepan and saute the onion until soft.
  • Add the meat and brown it evenly. Stir in the flour then add the tomato puree, mixed herbs and tomatoes with their juice, and the stock.
  • Bring to the boil, stirring constantly. Add the prunes, cover and simmer gently for about 1 hour.
  • Add the drained beans and adjust seasoning to taste. Cook for a further 30 minutes.
  • Sprinkle with parsley before serving.
  • Serve hot.

INGREDIENTS

  • 4 tablespoons Cooking oil
  • 2 onion, peeled and chopped
  • 750 grams stewing steak, trimmed of fat and cut into cubes
  • 2 tablespoon flour
  • 2 tablespoon tomato puree
  • 1 teaspoon mixed herbs
  • 750 grams tomatoes
  • 500 ml beef stock
  • 500 grams prunes, soaked in water overnight
  • 1 kg cannellini beans
  • Salt
  • Freshly ground black pepper
  • 2 tablespoon chopped parsley, to garnish
