Anyone who deeply craves in cooking meat recipe surely loves this tastier and juicier dish. The beef and orange casserole is loaded with orange juice, brown sugar, chuck steak and other seasonings. Serving it garnished with special ingredient add to its palatable taste.

Preparation Method :

  • Preheat the oven to Gas Mark 3/170°C/325°F.
  • Toss the steak in the seasoned flour, and then heat the dripping in a flameproof casserole with a lid.
  • Brown the floured beef in the dripping for 3 minutes add the onions and garlic and cook for further 2 minutes.
  • Sprinkle with the brown sugar and pour over the orange juice and beef stock.
  • Cook for 10 minutes, stir it all the time.
  • Season again with salt and pepper, place a piece of cooking foil over the casserole and then the lid, and cook in the centre of the oven for 3 hours.
  • About 45 minutes before the end of the cooking time, add the orange liqueur, segments, zest and green pepper, blending them into the casserole thoroughly.
  • Cover and return to the oven. Turn up the heat to Gas Mark 4/180°C/350°F until the casserole is cooked.


  • 1 kg chuck steak, cut into 5cm cubes
  • 50 grams flour, seasoned
  • 25 grams beef dripping
  • 2 peeled and sliced onions
  • 1 clove garlic, peeled and crushed
  • 1 tablespoon soft brown sugar
  • 275 ml fresh orange juice
  • 275 ml Basic Beef Stock
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper (to taste)
  • 3 tablespoons Orange Curacao segments and zest from 4 large Jaffa oranges
  • 1 large green pepper, de-seeded and sliced
