CASSEROLE OF STEAK, PEPPERS IN LIME SAUCE

The casserole of steak peppers in lime sauce is a mouth-watering dish that firmly adds to your regular meal. It is combined with chicken stock, sirloin steaks, Worcester sauce and other flavorings. With its combined lime sauce, the dish appears juicier.

Preparation Method :

  • Preheat the oven to Gas Mark 5/190°C/375°F.
  • Heat the oil in a large frying pan.
  • Coat the steaks in the seasoned flour and cook them for about 3 minutes on each side until it turns to brown.
  • Lift the steaks into a large deep casserole and sprinkle with the sliced baby onions or shallots.
  • Slowly fry the peppers in the steak juice. Add the chicken stock, lime juice and zest, and cook for further 5 minutes.
  • Add the chillies, oyster sauce and Worcester sauce. Then season with salt and pepper. Pour the sauce over the steak and onions.
  • Cover the casserole with a lid or cooking foil, place in the centre of the oven, cook for 1 hour until the meat is very tender, and serve.

INGREDIENTS

  • 3 tablespoons cooking oil
  • 250 grams sirloin steaks, fat and gristle removed
  • 50 grams flour, seasoned
  • 450 grams (peeled weight) baby onions or shallots, sliced
  • 150 grams green and red peppers, deseeded and thinly sliced
  • 150 ml chicken stock
  • Juice and zest of 2 limes
  • 2 green chillies, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Worcester sauce
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper (to taste)
