There are different kinds of this dish, different procedures and toppings. But this is the only thing that you can be sure, it’s precisely delicious! The broth of this dish is very delicious even without the toppings or content of the dish.

Preparation Method :

  • Heat a frying pan without any fat, add the meat and fry over a moderate heat, turning occasionally until evenly browned.
  • Add the onion and red pepper and fry for 5 minutes. Stir in the tomatoes and their juice, stock, chili powder to taste, tomato puree (paste) and salt and pepper to taste.
  • Bring to the boil, stirring, cover and simmer for 35 minutes. Add the kidney beans and continue to cook for a further 15 minutes, uncovered.
  • Spoon the mixture into two warmed bowls.
  • Serve with crusty bread and a crisp salad.


  • 600 grams minced beef 
  • 2 onion, finely chopped 
  • 1 red pepper, cored, seeded and chopped
  • 500 grams tomatoes
  • 4 tablespoons stock
  • 2 teaspoon chili powder 
  • 4 tablespoons tomato puree 
  • Salt and freshly ground pepper 
  • 800 grams red kidney beans, drained
