BACON AND NUT RING

In preparing bacon and nut ring, chopped lean bacon is use as a main ingredient. Together with other ingredients, this dish makes a good recipe. Tomato sauce will add flavour in this dish. Definitely there will be no left-over in your plate.

Preparation Time :
40 minutes

Cooking Time :
1 hour 20 minutes

Preparation Method :

  • Heat the oil in a pan, add the onion, garlic, bacon and celery and fry for 4 minutes until softened.
  • Mix in the flour, and then add the tomato juice, stirring until the mixture thickens.
  • Add the remaining ingredients, seasoning with salt and pepper to taste. Mix thoroughly.
  • Press the mixture into a greased ring mould and cover with foil. Cook in a preheated moderate oven for 1 hour.
  • Turn out on to a warmed serving dish, garnish with watercress and serve hot with tomato sauce.
  • Serve cold with salad.

INGREDIENTS

  • 4 tablespoons Cooking oil
  • 2 onion, peeled and chopped
  • 2 clove garlic, peeled and crushed
  • 200 grams lean bacon, denuded and chopped
  • 4 celery stalks, chopped
  • 2 tablespoon whole meal flour
  • 250 ml tomato juice
  • 200 grams whole meal breadcrumbs
  • 200 grams hazelnuts, coarsely ground
  • 2 tablespoon rolled oats
  • 2 tablespoon chopped parsley
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • Salt
  • Freshly ground black pepper
  • Watercress, to garnish
