Get ready to prepare this honey roast ham with a dipping sauce. Honey roast ham will definitely taste even more delicious because of the mixture of sugar, honey, and orange juice. You can grab for your extra rice because you can’t get enough to this delicious dish.

Preparation Method :

  • Drain the gammon and place in a large saucepan, and then pour in fresh cold water to cover.
  • Bring to the boil, skim off the scum that rises to the surface, reduce the heat and simmer for 30 minutes.
  • Heat the oven. Remove the gammon from the pan and lay it on a board. Carefully strip off the skin.
  • Score the fat surface diagonally with a sharp knife and stud with the cloves. Place the gammon in a baking tin.
  • Blend the sugar, honey and orange juice and pour over the gammon.
  • Roast in the oven for 30 minutes, then increase the oven temperature and roast for a further 15 minutes.
  • Transfer the gammon to a heated serving platter.
  • Meanwhile, to make the sauce, melt the red- currant jelly in a small saucepan.
  • Add the orange rind and juice, lemon juice and stock. Heat through gently.
  • Serve the gammon carved into slices and garnished with the orange slices, with the sauce served separately in a heated sauceboat.
  • Serve immediately.


  • 2 kg oven-ready gammon joint, soaked in cold water overnight
  • 20 cloves
  • 4 tablespoons Demerara sugar
  • 2 tablespoon clear honey
  • 6 tablespoons orange juice
  • Orange slices, to garnish


  • 4 tablespoons redcurrant jelly
  • Rind of 1 orange, finely Shredded
  • 6 tablespoons orange juice
  • 4 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 300 ml chicken stock
