You might want to try this roast veal with orange for your meal today. Roast meat always makes it perfect for dinner. With a complement of rosemary and oranges, it will definitely make you set for dinner. Plus the aroma of roasted meat and the scent of orange will make it more appetizing.
Serves :

Preparation Time :
45 minutes

Cooking Time :
2 hours 30 minutes

Preparation Method :

  • Make 8 small slits in the surface of the veal with a sharp, pointed knife. Insert garlic into the slits.
  • Put the meat in a roasting tin, sprinkle with salt and pepper then place the rosemary on top.
  • Pour the water around the meat, and then roast in a preheated hot oven for 15 minutes.
  • Lower the heat to moderate and continue roasting for 1½ hours.
  • Sprinkle the orange rind over the meat, and then stir orange juice into the cooking juices. Continue cooking tor 30 minutes, basting once.
  • To serve the veal, carve into slices and arrange on a warmed serving dish.
  • Taste and adjust the seasoning of the gravy, then pour a little gravy over the veal and garnish with orange slices.
  • Serve the remaining gravy in a sauceboat. The meat can also be served cold with a selection of salads.


  • 2 kg leg of veal
  • 4 cloves garlic, peeled and quartered lengthwise 
  • Salt
  • Freshly ground black pepper 
  • Rosemary sprig
  • 600 ml water 
  • Finely grated rind of 2 orange 
  • Juice of 4 oranges 
  • 2 orange peeled and sliced, to garnish
