GRILLED SAUSAGES WITH APPLE MASH

Preparation Method :

  • Put the potatoes, apples, and salt in a large saucepan; add enough water to cover. Bring to a boil, cover, and simmer for 10 minutes, until tender.
  • Melt the butter in a small frying pan over medium heat. Add the onion and sauté until softened, 5 minutes. Drain the potatoes and apples. Add the butter and onion mixture, vinegar, sugar, and nutmeg and mash until smooth.
  • Preheat a grill pan or barbecue flat plate. Grill the sausages until golden brown and cooked, 10 minutes. Serve hot with the apple mash, garnished with chives.

INGREDIENTS

  • 2 kg potatoes, peeled and diced
  • 4 medium tart apples, peeled and quartered
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 100 grams butter
  • 2 small onion, quartered and thinly sliced
  • 2 teaspoon cider vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • Dash of ground nutmeg
  • 10 medium sausages
  • Fresh chives, to garnish
