GINGERED BEEF WITH TURNIP

This amazing Gingered beef with turnip is so mouth-watering and easy to prepare for your family, relatives and even with your friends. It will just take a few minutes of your time for this. You can serve this with 10 people, and for the preparation time it’s just 40 minutes and for the cooking time will be 1 hour and 40 minutes.Serve it at once and garnished it with chopped parsley.

Preparation Method :

  • Put the meat into a saucepan with the ginger, peppercorns, soy sauce and sherry.
  • Add enough water just to cover the meat and bring to the boil. Cover and simmer for 1 hour or until tender.
  • Meanwhile, parboil the turnips for 2 minutes, and then drain well.
  • Remove the beef from the pan and cut into 1 inch thick slices. Put the slices of beef into a deep, heatproof bowl and arrange the turnips on top.
  • Pour the liquid from the pan over the turnips and cook in a steamer for 30 minutes.
  • Drain the liquid from the bowl into a saucepan, discarding the ginger.
  • Arrange the beef and turnips in a warmed serving dish and keep hot.
  • Add the blended corn flour to the pan and simmer, stirring constantly, until thickened.
  • Pour over the beef and turnips.
  • Serve at once, garnished with chopped parsley.

INGREDIENTS

  • 2 kg stewing steak, trimmed of fat, in two pieces
  • 6 slices root ginger
  • 2 teaspoon black peppercorns
  • 200 ml soy sauce
  • 4 tablespoons dry sherry
  • 2 kg turnips, peeled and cut into 1 inch thick slices
  • 4 teaspoons corn flour, blended with
  • 4 tablespoons water
  • Chopped parsley, to garnish
