TARRAGON MEATBALLS WITH MUSHROOM SAUCE

This simple and easy to cook recipe is a must for everybody because, it will just take a few minutes of your time preparing this mouth-watering dish that you will truly enjoy. You can definitely enjoy this together with your family and friends when you are having your lunch or even dinner if you want to. This recipe can give you a less time to prepare because it is only 30 minutes for the preparation and 40 minutes for cooking. And can serve it with 8 persons.

Preparation Method :

  • To make the meatballs, place the minced meat, onion, breadcrumbs, egg, tarragon, salt and pepper in a bowl and mix well. Shape into 12 balls.
  • Heat the oil in a large pan and gently fry the meatballs, turning to brown evenly. Remove the meatballs with a slotted spoon and drain on kitchen paper.
  • To make the sauce, add the mushrooms to the pan and cook gently until softened, then add the stock.
  • Blend the corn flour with the milk and add the tomato puree, lemon juice, sugar, salt and pepper.
  • Add to the pan and heat, stirring, until the mixture comes to the boil. Cover and simmer for 5 minutes.
  • Carefully place the meatballs in the sauce, cover and simmer for 20 to 30 minutes.
  • Transfer to a warmed serving dish, spoon the sauce over and garnish with tomato wedges and tarragon sprigs.
  • Serve hot.

INGREDIENTS

  • 750 grams minced steak or lean beef
  • 2 onion, peeled and grated
  • 100 grams fresh whole meal breadcrumbs
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 teaspoon dried tarragon
  • Salt
  • Freshly ground black pepper
  • 4 tablespoons Cooking oil
  • Tarragon sprigs and tomato wedges, to garnish

Sauce

  • 250 grams mushrooms, finely chopped
  • 500 ml beef or vegetable stock
  • 6 teaspoons corn flour
  • 6 tablespoons skimmed milk
  • 3 tablespoons tomato puree
  • 3 teaspoons lemon juice
  • 4 teaspoons brown sugar
  • Salt
  • Freshly ground black pepper
