Preparation Method :

  • Coat the beef thoroughly in the marinade, then leave to marinate for about 1-2 hours.
  • Heat the sesame oil in a wok, transfer the meat to the wok and stir-fry for about 3-5 minutes.
  • Add the mangetout and the marinade, adjust seasoning with salt and pepper and stir-fry for further 2 more minutes.
  • Drain the noodles and arrange them on a platter.
  • Spoon the mangetout mixture over the top and garnish with shredded spring onions.


  • 225 grams dried egg noodles, , cook according to the packet instructions
  • 550 grams fillet steak, thinly sliced
  • 225 grams mangetout, trimmed
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 3 teaspoon sesame oil
  • Spring onions, shredded, to garnish


  • 2 tablespoon piece of fresh root ginger, shredded
  • 1 teaspoon chilli sauce
  • 50 ml soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons dry sherry
  • 1 teaspoon clear honey
  • ½ teaspoon Chinese five spice powder
  • 1 garlic clove, crushed
