With the combine ingredients of beef and cucumber this dish rated as a health friendly dish. With the bland taste of cucumber and the juicer taste of the beef marinated in the sesame oil, soy sauce and sugar combined, fantastic taste that’s fits your meal.

Preparation Method :

  • Trim off any fat and cut steak into paper-thin slices.
  • Slices should be about 5 cm long and 12 mm wide. Put the beef in a bowl and mix in the sesame oil, soy sauce, sugar and cayenne.
  • Make sure the meat is well so that the flavors penetrate.
  • Peel the cucumbers, but leave a thin strip of green at intervals to give a decorative effect.
  • Cut in halves lengthwise and scoop out seeds with a small spoon. Cut across into thin slices.
  • Heat oil in a wok, swirling to coat the surface. Add the beef and stir-fry on a high heat for 1 minute.
  • Add cucumbers and toss for a further minute. Let the mixture simmer until the cucumber is half cooked.
  • It should be lender but still crisp. Garnish with sesame seeds and serve immediately.


  • 375 grams lean rump or fillet steak
  • 1 teaspoon oriental sesame oil
  • 1½ tablespoons light soy sauce
  • ½ teaspoon sugar
  • ¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 2 green cucumbers
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon crushed sesame seeds, toasted
