Preparation Method :

  • Pour the milk into a 6 cups measuring jug and heat, uncovered, on Full for 2 - 3minutes.
  • Place the flour in a 6 cups bowl and mix with water.
  • Break in the eggs, then add the sugar.
  • Whisk until smooth, then gradually blend in the hot milk.
  • Cook, uncovered, on Full for 6 minutes, whisking every minute or until the sauce clings to the spatula.
  • Mix in the rose essence.


  • 500 ml full-cream milk
  • 2 teaspoons cornflour  
  • 1 tablespoon cold water
  • 4 large eggs
  • 3 tablespoons castor sugar
  • 1 teaspoon rum, sherry, almond or rose essence
