Some ingredients needed for this recipe are mussels, butter or margarine, garni sachet, chopped parsley, with dry white wine and other needed ingredients that makes this one of your food cravings. Try to serve this for your family now and you all will love this.

Preparation Method :

  • Wash the mussels under cold running water. Scrape away any barnacles, then cut off the beards.
  • Discard any mussels with cracked shells or those that are open; they can cause food poisoning. Wash again.
  • Put the butter or margarine in a deep bowl. Melt, uncovered for about 30 seconds. Mix in the onion and garlic.
  • Cover with a plate and cook for 5 minutes, stirring twice. Add the wine, bouquet garni, bay leaf, salt and mussels. Stir gently to mix.
  • Cover as before and cook for 5 minutes. Using a slotted spoon, transfer the mussels into four deep bowls or soup plates.
  • Stir the breadcrumbs and half the parsley into the cooking liquid, then spoon over the mussels. Sprinkle with the remaining parsley and serve straight away.


  • 1 litre fresh mussels
  • 1 tablespoon butter or margarine
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 1 garlic clove, crushed
  • 150 ml dry white wine
  • 1 bouquet garni sachet
  • 1 dried bay leaf, crumbled

  • 1 tablespoon fresh white breadcrumbs
  • 1 tablespoon chopped parsley
