Preparation Method :

  • Cook the noodles in plenty of boiling salted water until tender but still firm to bite - about 10 minutes. Drain thoroughly and toss in a large warmed serving bowl with the garlic and butter.
  • Heat the cream in a pan until nearly boiling, then stir in the herbs, salt to taste and plenty of freshly ground pepper.
  • Pour the sauce over the buttered noodles and toss gently until the pasta strands are coated.
  • Serve with freshly grated Parmesan cheese and a mixed salad.


  • 500 gram tagliatelle or ribbon noodles 
  • Salt and freshly ground white pepper 
  • 2 clove garlic, crushed
  • 50 gram butter
  • 12 tablespoons single cream 
  • 2 tablespoon each chopped parsley, basil, chives and marjoram 
  • Grated Parmesan cheese, to serve
