Preparation Method :

  • Make the peanut sauce. Grind the cumin and coriander seeds in a spice mill or with a mortar and pestle. Mix with the garlic.
  • Switch on the food processor or blender and add the quartered onion through the feed tube, followed by the cumin mixture, the red pepper, lemon juice, salt, chilli, coconut milk and peanut butter.
  • When all the ingredients are fully combined, transfer to a saucepan and blend in the water. Bring to the boil and simmer for 5 minutes or until the sauce has a thin coating consistency. Set aside to cool.
  • Cook the noodles in plenty of boiling water according to packet instructions. Drain and refresh under cold running water. Drain well.
  • Combine the noodles with the peanut sauce, transfer to a serving dish and garnish with chopped coriander.


  • 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • 1 teaspoon coriander seeds
  • 4 garlic cloves, crushed 
  • 2 small onions, quartered
  • 1 red pepper, roughly chopped
  • 2 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 fresh red chilli, seeded and sliced
  • 150 ml coconut milk
  • 250 grams crunchy peanut butter
  • 150 grams rice thread noodles
  • 2 tablespoon chopped fresh coriander, to garnish
