Preparation Method :

  • Melt the butter in a heavy frying pan (skillet) and sauté the onion, celery and red pepper until soft but not brown.
  • Stir in the chili powder, cook for 1 minute, then add the cooked macaroni, cheese and salt and pepper to taste. Mix well, and spoon into a small greased baking dish.
  • Beat the eggs and milk together and pour over the macaroni. Cook in a preheated moderate oven (180°C/350°F, Gas Mark 4) for 35 minutes, or until firm and golden brown on top.


  • 80 gram butter
  • 2 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 4 sticks celery, finely chopped
  • 1 red pepper, cored, seeded and chopped
  • 2 teaspoon chili powder
  • 200 gram short-cut macaroni, cooked and drained
  • 200 gram mature Cheddar cheese, diced
  • Salt and freshly ground pepper
  • 4 eggs
  • 600 ml milk
