PASTA SHELLS WITH TOMATO SAUCE

Preparation Method :

  • Place the water in a large saucepan and bring to the boil. Stir in oil, salt and pasta and cook for 10 minutes or until it is cooked.
  • Tomato sauce: Place the onion and garlic in a bowl, cover and cook in a microwave on HIGH for 2 minutes.
  • Stir in the tomatoes and cornflour mixture, oregano, tomato puree with salt and black pepper to taste. Cook, uncovered, for 3 - 5 minutes, stirring.
  • Drain the pasta and stir in the sauce and butter. Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese and serve immediately.

INGREDIENTS

  • 225 grams  pasta bows
  • 1 tablespoon butte

Tomato Sauce

  • 400 grams canned tomatoes, chopped, juice reserved and blended with 1 teaspoon cornflour
  • 2 teaspoons chopped fresh oregano
  • 2 tablespoon tomato puree
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, crushed
  • Freshly ground black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 litres water
  • 1 tablespoon Cooking oil
  • Salt
