Preparation Method :

  • Cut bread into squares, soak in evaporated milk for 10 minutes and beat with a fork.
  • Add pork, with salt and black pepper to taste, mustard and onion and mix well to combine. Stir in egg. Shape mixture into 8 patties.
  • Heat a heavy nonstick frying pan, smear base with a little oil and cook patties for 5 minutes on each side or until golden brown and cooked through.
  • Place each pattie on a lettuce leaf and top with fried onion. Serve on toasted rolls.


  • 500 grams lean pork mince
  • 3 tablespoon grated onion  
  • 2 slices bread, crusts removed
  • 75 ml evaporated milk
  • ½ teaspoon dry mustard
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • Freshly ground black pepper and Salt, to taste
  • Olive oil, for cooking
